LedgerBooks for Claude and ChatGPT
Your books, inside the AI you already use.
Connect LedgerBooks to Claude or ChatGPT and run your bookkeeping in plain English — ask how the business is doing, send it a bill to enter, have it categorize the bank feed or reconcile an account. Everything it does goes through the same double-entry engine as the app, so the books stay balanced to the cent.
Things you can ask
Connect it
You need a LedgerBooks account and a Claude or ChatGPT plan that allows connectors. When you connect, you sign in to LedgerBooks, choose which company the assistant may use, and approve what it can do.

Safe by design
One company per connection
The assistant sees only the company you picked when you connected. It has no way to switch to another.
Your role, not more
It can do what your role allows and nothing else. A view-only member gets a view-only connection.
It never moves money
It records bookkeeping entries. It cannot pay, charge, transfer or refund anything.
You see every change
Your assistant asks before anything that changes existing records, and every action is logged with who, what and when.
Off in one click
Disconnect any assistant from Settings → AI connections in LedgerBooks; it stops on its very next request.
Your conversations stay yours
We receive only the actions your assistant calls, never your chat.
Everything it can do
Reads only looks. Adds records something new. Changes alters something already in your books — your assistant asks you first.

Questions
- Does it cost extra?
- No. The connector is included on every LedgerBooks plan, and the AI runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription.
- Who in my company can connect?
- Owners and admins by default. An owner can also allow accountants. View-only members can never connect.
- I have more than one company.
- Each connection is for one company. Connect again and pick the other company to add a second; every answer says which company it came from.
- What do you store?
- A log of each action your assistant called — which action, its inputs, whether it worked and when — so you can see what happened in your books. See our privacy policy for details.
- How do I disconnect?
- In LedgerBooks, open Settings → AI connections and click Disconnect. You can also remove it from Claude or ChatGPT.
